Abstract
Four adult female dogs underwent a trigonal cutaneous anastomosis for differential urine collection. Subsequently, the left kidneys were rendered ischemic for various periods of time by clamping both arterial and venous blood flow. Urine from both the ischemic kidneys and the contralateral control kidneys was collected at repetitive intervals and stored. Using the Vermeulen technique, slightly modified, for information of experimental urinary concretions, the urine from ischemic kidneys was shown to have a higher tendency toward concretion deposition as compared to the control urine from nonischemic kidneys.
