N2 - The leaf oil of Chukrasia tabularis Adr. Juss. (Meliaceae) has been analyzed by GC/MS. The oilconsisted of oxygenated monoterpenes (42.8%) and phenyl propanoids (25.2%). The oxygenated monoterpenes consisted chiefly of carvacrol (26.4%), thymol (5.2%) and borneol (3.0%), while the major phenyl propanoids characterized were (E)-methyl isoeugenol (18.2%) and myristicin (7.0%). Smaller amounts of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (13.0%), monoterpene hydrocarbons (8.7%) and oxygenated sesquiterpenes (8.7%) were also found.
