Abstract
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) was sued for diagnosis of intestinal metaplasia of the esophagus. Highest resolution of all in vivo imaging technologies was offered by endoscopic OCT. Results showed that morphologic structure, visualized by OCT, on the size scale of 10 μm, provided high sensitivity and specificty for specialized intestinal metaplasia (SIM).
