Abstract

A clinical information system has been developed for the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. The system operates on an IBM PC/AT microcomputer, and was developed using the Revelation database. The system supports the department's clinical research, administration, quality assurance, and clinical activities. The system generates standard reports, contains an ad hoc report generator, and can create data files for use by other systems, including statistical packages and spreadsheets.
