Abstract
To the Editor: The clinicopathologic features of the patient described by Burg et al. (Oct. 10 issue)1 who had a subcutaneous T-cell lymphoma simulating panniculitis are similar to those of a series of eight patients we recently described.2 A notable feature of subcutaneous T-cell lymphoma is its association with a hemophagocytic syndrome, which was the case in six of the patients we described.2 Although this complication was not described in the patient of Burg et al.,1 the clinical findings of fever and leukopenia suggest this possibility. The apparent production of interferon gamma by the neoplastic cells could be a pathogenetic.
