Abstract

This monograph discusses the surgical aspects of ischemic heart disease. The selection of patients for heart surgery, the various coronary bypass techniques, the hemodynamics, surgical results and postoperative treatment are dealt with. Attention is directed to the surgical treatment of unstable angina pectoris, infarctectomy, resection of ventricular aneurysm and closure of the ventricular septal defect, and development of myocardial infarction.
