Abstract

A congenital orbital cyst was seen in a 10-day-old-boy, which meets the diagnostic criteria of a congenital cystic eye. The arrest in the normal development of the primary optic vesicle causing this malformation probably occurred after the fourth week of embryonic life, as evidenced by the presence of a rudimentary lens and partial invagination of the optic vesicle.
