Abstract
The design and applications of a computer-based system for determining relative proportions of library spectra in desorption mass spectra are reported. The system can perform correlation and library-matching functions on single unknowns as well as deconvoiute mixtures of unknowns. The algorithms for this system were developed for the rapid characterization of microorganisms through desorption ionization of their lipid biomarkers.
