Abstract

A colorimetric method is described for the measurement of isocitric dehydrogenase activity in serum and homogenates. The method is simpler, less time consuming, and requires less expensive equipment than the currently popular spectrophotometric technique, even though it measures the same product of enzymatic action, e.g., TPNH. This report includes the enzyme kinetics, the effects of certain activators and inhibitors, the enzymatic distribution in the tissues of the rat, and the values obtained with 50 normal human sera.
