Abstract

A new technique for cognitive-behavior group psychotherapy conducted in close-ended, short-term groups was developed and used in several different small groups of moderately to severely depressed outpatients. The rationale of cognitive therapy of depression is discussed and the technique applied in an ongoing research project is presented in some detail.
