Abstract

Cheek, medial canthal, and lateral nasal defects can be reconstructed with good aesthetic results utilizing the laterally based cervicofacial advancement flaps. This represents a new technique in facial reconstruction that preserves the major vascular supply to the region. This technique also involves following the borders of the facial aesthetic subunits, which provides a more aesthetic solution to the reconstruction of anterior cheek defects that do standard cervicofacial flaps or skin grafts.
