Characterization of nuclear proteins of MCF-7 cells using 2-D gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry

Abstract

The use of proteomics study of nuclear proteins in drug susceptible and drug resistant MCF-7 human breast cancer cells was analyzed. Nuclear proteins were extracted from cultured MCF-7 cells by differential detergent fractionation (DDF), cellytic nuclear extraction and pure nuclei isolation. Using DDF, fifty four protein were identified from drug susceptible MCF-7 cells. Proteins were identified that exist both in nuclei and other organelles.
