Abstract

Secondary anti hapten IgE antibody response was observed in vitro using rabbit mesenteric lymph node cells primed with DNP Asc or DNP Rag included in alum. Analysis of immunocompetent cells involved in the anti hapten IgE and IgG antibody responses in this system revealed that B cells for IgE antibody were different from B cells for IgG antibody response. Evidence was obtained that helper T cells collaborating with IgE B cells may be different from the helper cells involved in the IgG antibody response.
