Abstract

In summary, all patients with AF should receive appropriate anticoagulation, and strategies to maintain sinus rhythm, particularly in individuals with symptomatic AF or rapid ventricular rates, are preferred. The recommendation of rhythm control as first-line standard of care in all AF patients, however, requires substantiating evidence.
