Abstract

Carbamazepine is an exceedingly effective anticonvulsant. The best results obtained were in patients with psychomotor (temporal lobe) seizures. A significant number of patients with major motor seizures was also benefitted. This drug is ineffective in petit mal and childhood myoclonic epilepsy.
