Abstract

We examined 459 patients who received nitroglycerin in the emergency department for chest pain to determine whether nitroglycerin-responsive chest pain had diagnostic or prognostic value. We found that chest pain relieved with nitroglycerin did not predict active coronary artery disease or outcomes in these patients.
