Abstract
Relating neurotransmitter amines and peptides to the regulation of mood, especially as they are affected by anti-anxiety drugs, this volume reviews the role of peptides as possbile neurotransmitters of mood in the brain; the role of biogenic amine in affective disorders; the integration of brain and hormone activities; and the effects of anti-anxiety drugs on animals as well as man. An entire chapter is devoted to pharmacokinetics because of its crucial importance in determining therapeutic response to psychoactive agents.
