Abstract
In the present study the authors measured the levels of enzymes involved in both ara C and 5 aza C metabolism in blast cells obtained from 44 untreated human acute nonlymphocytic leukemics. In particular, the degree of variation of these enzyme activities in this patient population was noted in the hope of identifying a subgroup having highly favorable biochemical characteristics for treatment with these agents.
