Axillary artery injuries: importance of early recognition

Abstract

Two cases of axillary arterial injury are presented. The difference in their outcome illustrates some of the important principles in the management of these injuries. Emphasis is placed on the misleading effect of peripheral pulsation and the role of arteriography.
