Abstract
Previous studies have shown that the primary defect in senile entropion is laxity of the muscular and fascial lid retractors. To achieve an effective correction, it is logical to direct the surgery at tightening of the lid retractors and restoration of support to the tarsus. We have found that this can be accomplished by the strategic placement of 3 absorbable sutures in the manner described. The procedure is relatively easy and, when done properly, is effective and free from complications.
