Abstract

The chemiluminescent response of leukocytes collected 30 min into hemodialysis was reduced to one-third that of autologous predialysis cells. The reduction was transient, with chemiluminescence returning to predialysis values by 2 hr. The dialysis procedure also caused slight C3 conversion as well as a reduction of alternative pathway hemolytic titer.
