After the screening

Abstract

The success of health promotion programs depends on identifying at-risk individuals, assuring treatment, and teaching recommended behaviors. Occupational health nurses are ideally situated to apply their knowledge and skills, and to play a major role in promoting, implementating, and monitoring risk factor reduction programs. These programs present an exciting opportunity for the OHN to be an advocate for workers and to promote their well-being. The goal of the efforts to reduce risk factors is to improve health and prolong life. Controlling cardiovascular risk factors will help achieve this goal.
