He was part of the inaugural class of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Public Health Prevention Service and has worked with the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities (now the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities) and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute on Child Health and Human Development.
