Acute pain management for the trauma patient is becoming recognized as an important aspect of the total care of the trauma patient, but traditional approaches to pain management may be inadequate. Pain management of the trauma patient must be multidisciplinary. This chapter offers practical suggestions and guidelines that may be used by all disciplines.
