Abstract

The simultaneous presence of adenocarcinoma of the stomach and squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus is rare in Caucasian and Hispanic populations. However, there have been reports of the presence of both malignancies in the Japanese population. We present the case of a Peruvian-born, 84-year-old female who presented with gastric adenocarcinoma and who was later found to have simultaneous esophageal carcinoma presenting as complete esophageal obstruction.
