Abstract
Based on the lung anatomy, the border of lung zone is expressed as a set of parabolic and straight lines. After several feature points are detected, the parameters of the lines are determined and the lung zone in X-ray film is recognized. A coarse-to-fine strategy is employed in the procedure to lower the computation consuming. The method has been successfully used in an application system.
