Abstract
Affinity studies indicate that there appears to be two subtypes of α1-adrenoceptors in the vascular smooth muscle of blood vessels from rodents and rabbit. Nichlas Flavahan and Paul Vanhoutte analyse data from the literature which supports the existence of one subtype with high affinity for prazosin and yohimbine and a second subtype with low affinity for these antagonists.
