Abstract
By RNA in situ hybridization and immunohistochemical analyses of early stage mouse embryos, we find that α4 integrin gene is expressed in migratory cranial neural crest cells originating from the presumptive forebrain, midbrain, and rhombomeres 1 and 2 of the presumptive hindbrain. α4 is also expressed in epicardial progenitor cells in the septum transversum that migrate to the heart.
